Publish Your Doc
Publish from the editor, dashboard, or CLI: privately, publicly, or anything in between. However you ship it, your readers get a fast, searchable, AI-powered site.
Publish your way
By default, project access is private. Once published, external users can't reach it. You can still share it your way:
• Invite users as editors or viewers through Access Management.
• Set up password-based access for docs on a custom domain.
To make your docs available to everyone:
1. Publish the documentation. 2. Change access from private to public under Project Access Management.
If you’re looking to host a private, white-labeled portal that only specific customers can access, our Private Portal for External Customers is the right feature for you. More information is available here.
Your docs are indexed by search engines by default. To keep them reachable by link but out of search results, open Project SEO Management and enable the No-Indexing toggle.
Anyone with the direct link can still view the docs, perfect for beta versions or large-scale user testing without affecting your SEO through duplicate content.
To take documentation offline, open Project Access Management and select Draft from the access dropdown. Once unpublished, the documentation link is no longer accessible.
Enterprise & self-hosted deployment
Need full control over where your docs live? Theneo offers self-hosted (on-premise) deployment for Enterprise customers. Run Theneo inside your own infrastructure to meet strict security, compliance, or data-residency requirements, with the exact same authoring and publishing experience. See Theneo for Enterprise, or contact hello@theneo.io.
