Titles, meta descriptions, and keywords

Your SEO title is the headline that appears in search results, and the meta description is the summary beneath it. In Theneo you can customize both for every section, so each part of your documentation is represented accurately. Add relevant keywords per section to help search engines understand your content and context.

Open Graph management

The Open Graph protocol controls how your project looks when shared on social platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. Manage the Open Graph title, description, and image to shape the appearance of shared links, improving engagement and click-through rates.

No-index option

Want a project public but invisible to search engines, like an early-stage project or one with sensitive content? Enable the no-index option to tell search engines not to index it, so it stays out of results even while publicly accessible.

URL redirects

When a page's URL changes after a migration, a slug edit, or a restructure, a redirect sends visitors and search engines from the old address to the new one. That preserves your SEO equity, keeps external links working, and avoids 404s for readers who bookmarked the old page.

Sitemap generator

The Sitemap Generator exports an up-to-date XML sitemap for your project's public documentation, so search engines can discover and index your docs more effectively. Sitemaps are generated on demand from the SEO Management tab and downloaded instantly.

Generate a sitemap

Project Editors and Admins can generate and download one in a few clicks:

Open your project

Open the project you want a sitemap for.

Go to SEO Management

Navigate to the SEO Management tab.

Generate the sitemap

Click Generate Sitemap. It downloads instantly and contains only publicly visible documentation URLs.

When to regenerate

Since generation is manual, regenerate whenever you make meaningful changes to public docs: publishing new pages, changing slugs or URLs, reorganizing navigation, or moving content between private and public.
